About Us

Island Veterinary Services opened it's doors December 24th, 1994. Too excited to wait until the holidays had passed, Dr. Brenda Bush started her practice in the Eden Shopping Center on Walkers Rd. George Town, Grand Cayman. Immediately upon opening, a strong bond began to develop between the practice and the community. Not only were those initial days filled with establishing a quality practice, but also community service.

A strong relationship was forged with the Cayman Islands Humane Society which has grown to include shelter based care, welfare care, and an aggressive spay/neuter program.IVS was also instrumental in establishing the Wildlife Fund through the National Trust, a program that made it possible for all sick or injured wildlife to receive medical care. Cayman Animal Rescue Enthusiasts, a volunteer organization also has found a supportive staff of veterinarians and animal health care givers at IVS to help them with their goals of rescue, welfare, and spay& neuters.

IVS recognised that the Sister Islands of Cayman Brac and Little Cayman were disadvantaged without a resident veterinarian, so it was a pleasure to send a team of one doctor and nurse to provide clinical medicine and surgery once a month to Cayman Brac. These visits are fun and rewarding, and all our staff look forward to their respective turns.

The clinic has grown over the years and our animal health care team has expanded. All staff has worked for a common goal of providing the highest quality medicine to our patients and clients. Come visit our new facility and get to know the exceptional staff that makes IVS!

In June 2010, Island Veterinary Services opened its doors in a state of the art veterinary clinic located on 95 Printer Way. The new facility is purpose build, has got three exam rooms, separate treatment rooms for dogs and cats, an isolation ward and an intensive care unit.
We also have a digital radiography unit, surgery and prep rooms, offices and a spacious waiting room area and parking place.
